We are the controller for the personal data described in this policy.
What we collect and why
The Daily Brief (newsletter). If you subscribe to the Daily Brief, we collect your email address and use it solely to send you the brief. You confirm your subscription by clicking a link in a confirmation email, and every message contains an unsubscribe link. The newsletter is operated by MailerLite (MailerLite Limited, Ireland), which stores subscriber data within the European Union on our behalf. MailerLite records whether an email is opened and which links are clicked, so that we can see which topics interest readers.
Contact and AI snapshot requests. If you write to us or request an AI snapshot, we collect the details you enter (such as your name, company, email address and message), receive them by email and store them on our website to handle your request. To prepare an AI snapshot, we ask leading AI assistants questions about your company; your personal details are not passed to them.
Booking a call. Calls are booked with a scheduling tool that runs on this website. We store the details you enter (such as your name, email address and the chosen time) to arrange the call, and send you a confirmation by email. If the call takes place by video, the provider of the video service processes the connection data under its own terms.
Research notice. When you first open the Research section, we show an information notice. A note that you have seen it is stored in your browser so that it is not shown again. This note is not transmitted to us and identifies no individual.
Website statistics. We count visits with a statistics tool that runs on our own server. It uses no cookies, stores no personal data and records only totals: the pages viewed and the websites that referred visitors.
Server logs. Our hosting provider in Switzerland records standard technical information for each request, including IP address, browser type and time of access. These logs are used for security and troubleshooting, and are retained for a limited period.
Cookies
This website uses only what it needs to function. It uses no advertising, tracking or social-media cookies, and loads no content from Google or other third parties while you browse; fonts are served from our own server.
- The note that you have seen the Research notice is stored in your browser’s local storage.
- If you book a call, the booking tool may set a technical session cookie needed to complete the booking.
- If you log in as an administrator, WordPress sets cookies for your login session and display preferences. These apply only to site administrators, not to ordinary visitors.
You can delete this data at any time in your browser settings.
Images and embedded content
Images published on this website may contain embedded technical information, such as the camera used or, in some cases, location data. Where we publish photographs, we remove location data before uploading.
We do not currently embed content from other websites, such as videos or maps. If we do so in future, we will update this policy, because such content can collect data about you as if you had visited the other website.
Legal basis
We process your data on the basis of your consent (newsletter), to respond to your request (enquiries, AI snapshot requests and bookings), and on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating a secure and functional website and understanding how it is used (server logs and statistics). Our processing is governed by the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
How long we keep it
We keep your newsletter subscription until you unsubscribe. Enquiries, AI snapshot requests and booking records are kept for up to 12 months, unless a business relationship follows or a longer period is required by law. Server logs are kept for the period set by our hosting provider.
Who else sees it
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising. Data is shared only with the service providers named above, who process it on our instructions. We may disclose data where required by law.
Your rights
You have the right to ask us what data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have your data deleted, and to withdraw your consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, write to bruno@5mn.ch. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) in Switzerland, or with your local supervisory authority in the EU.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
