Q4 26: FY 26 guidance (sales growth 36–40% on USD 146.1M; adj. EBITDA margin >14.5%) minus 9M 26. Q4 25 = FY 25 minus 9M 25 (sales 146.1 – 101.1; adj. EBITDA 19.6 – 12.2). For comparison, Q4 25 sales grew calc. +61% y/y, after calc. +75% in Q3 25. Q/Q: the implied Q4 26 is est. +15–27% on Q3 26, against calc. +20% in Q4 25 and calc. +30% in Q4 24.

In plain words

What happened. Kuros, a Swiss company, sells MagnetOs, a man-made material that helps bones grow together after spine surgery. It now expects sales to grow 36–40% in 2026, more than the “at least 35%” it had promised.

Why it matters. Sales in the first nine months of 2026 were about USD 142 million, up 40%, and profit grew faster than sales. Analysts had expected even faster sales growth for the year, but lower profitability. A new factory in the US, its biggest market, started production in October 2026. The third quarter is usually its slowest, but in the third quarter of 2026 sales barely grew from the second quarter.

Context Mixed against consensus: the raised sales growth range stays below the roughly 50% that consensus implies, while the margin guidance is above it. Q3 is usually Kuros’s soft quarter (sales calc. +8% on Q2 in both Q3 24 and Q3 25), but Q3 26 rose only calc. 1% on Q2 26, below that pattern, and the year-on-year gain eased to calc. USD 11.8M from calc. 14.6M in Q1 26 and 14.3M in Q2 26 (calc. 16.1M in Q3 25): a slowdown beyond the usual seasonal dip, though not a sharp one. The guidance implies Q4 26 sales est. 15–27% above Q3 26, against the usual year-end step-up of calc. +20% in Q4 25 and calc. +30% in Q4 24, so its low end assumes a softer Q4 than in the past two years; the implied Q4 26 margin of at least est. 14.4%, below the calc. 16.4% of Q4 25, also looks cautious. Reaching its 2028 targets (USD 300–330M of sales, adjusted EBITDA margin of at least 20%) needs est. +21–29% growth a year from the FY 26 guidance range, below this year’s pace, and about 5.5 margin points more.

The key question What is the market paying for beyond the 2028 plan? The shares fell after the release despite the raised guidance and traded at about CHF 17–17.5 on 16 October, an enterprise value of about calc. USD 795–820M (39.7M shares, cash of USD 19.6M, no debt, CHF 0.83 per USD). Even if Kuros delivers its 2028 targets (USD 300–330M of sales and a margin of at least 20%, so about calc. USD 60–66M of adjusted EBITDA, against calc. USD 29M implied by the 2026 guidance) and then holds that level until 2036, those cash flows are worth about est. USD 390M today at a 9% discount rate, roughly half the enterprise value. To fill the other half, adjusted EBITDA would have to keep growing after 2028 by about est. 10% a year if the business earns until 2041, or about est. 21% a year if it earns only until 2036, which means roughly est. USD 75–95M of EBITDA in 2030. Kuros has published no patent expiry for MagnetOs, and as a device cleared through the FDA’s 510(k) route it has no regulatory exclusivity, so how long that growth lasts rests on its NeedleGrip surface technology and its Level I clinical evidence.

Enterprise value: 39.7M shares at CHF 17–17.5 (16 Oct 2026) minus cash of USD 19.6M (30 Sep 2026, no debt), at CHF 0.83 per USD. Growth needed: the yearly growth of adjusted EBITDA after 2028 at which cash flows to 2041 (10%) or to 2036 (21%), discounted at 9%, equal the enterprise value (Kuros publishes no patent expiry for MagnetOs). FY 26: guidance of 36–40% sales growth on USD 146.1M at a margin above 14.5%. 2028: targets of USD 300–330M of sales at a margin of at least 20%. Plan held flat: est. USD 45M of adj. EBITDA in 2027, then USD 63M a year to 2036, discounted at 9%. EBITDA is before tax and capex (USD 15–16M planned for 2026), so it overstates cash flow. calc. = calculated by 5mn from reported figures; est. = 5mn estimate.

What could lift the trajectory The reassuring part is that the share price does not assume a disappointment: it assumes the business stays on its plan, and the nine-month figures and raised guidance say it does. The new US plant in Alpharetta, producing since October, helps profitability more than sales. The Netherlands site already covers demand up to 2027, and the finance chief put the cost of goods at only about 8–10% of sales, so the gain comes mainly from lower import duties, freight and inventory (four to six months of stock, which he called “quite costly”), and it supports the 2028 margin target rather than bringing the sales target forward. To move above the plan, Kuros needs more demand: a higher share in spine, where MagnetOs held about 6% of its target categories in 2025; foot and ankle and trauma (the ASTRA trial); a settable bone void filler for a US market of USD 489M in 2025; and Europe, while the US still brings 96–97% of sales. The 20% margin target for 2028 is below mature players such as Globus Medical (31.3%), so with cost of goods at about 8–10% of sales, margin expansion beyond 2028 is a second lever next to sales growth. Otherwise a re-rating is mainly a matter of time: when Kuros sets targets beyond 2028, they would need to point to sales of roughly est. USD 380–470M by 2030 at a 20% margin to support today’s value. Until then, a 2026 growth range of 36–40%, below the roughly 50% consensus expected, and unchanged 2028 targets gave the share price no new support. The next tests are Q4 26, usually Kuros’s strongest quarter, and the FY 26 results in early 2027 (date not yet announced).
